Welcome to The Dream Makers
We specialize in providing soft character beanies for children with medical hair loss. Our mission is to bring joy and comfort to these kids during a challenging time. Each beanie is handmade with love and care, ensuring the highest quality for our kiddos.
Beginning in January, 2018, as a group of five, we have grown! We have made, through 2023, over 1600 beanies.
“You are beautiful, strong and brave” goes on every card we send with our beanies because these children are just that.
We give children experiencing medical hair loss a chance to dream and escape their disease by providing princess, superhero, and character beanies. Very often, chemotherapy treatments leave young scalps too sensitive for traditional wigs or beanies. Our beanies are made of soft, high-quality yarn so they will not irritate their tender heads. Our beanies are practical because they provide warmth and hold in body heat.
I wish everyone could see the transformation that our beanies have on these children. They go from being a shy, withdrawn cancer fighter to a vibrant, smiling, giggling child. It changes their personality. It raises their self-esteem, lifts their spirits, and lights up their beautiful faces. Our beanies also give these very sick and scared children a chance to dream and pretend that they are princesses, superheroes, or any character they want. Our beanies are machine washable! (please read the instructions supplied with each beanie).
These beanies are provided to the child at no cost to their family. We operate 100% from your generous donations.
If you know of a child battling hair loss of any kind, please click the "Request a Beanie" page at the top of this page. If a desired beanie is not on the list, please fill out the form anyway with the beanie the child wants. We have and will try to fill all requests.
